Bristol Elks Lodge #1010 is committed to helping young people make healthy, drug-free choices through education, prevention, community partnerships and age-appropriate resources for children, teens, parents and educators.
The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States. Local Elks volunteers work in their communities to educate and inspire young people to choose healthy, drug-free lives.
Our Drug Awareness Committee works with area schools, youth programs, families and community partners to make prevention information and Elks Drug Awareness resources available throughout our community.

Bristol #1010 distributes Elks Drug Awareness coloring materials and educational resources to children through local schools and youth programs.
Our goal is to reinforce positive choices, prevention and healthy living in ways that are appropriate for children, teenagers and families.
The national Elks Drug Awareness Program invites students to express what living drug free means to them. The 2026–2027 theme for the poster, essay and video contests is “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.”
Grades 3–5
Students create an original poster based on the annual Drug Awareness theme. Local winners may advance to District, State and National competition.
Official Poster Contest RulesGrades 6–8
Students write an original essay of no more than 250 words based on the annual Drug Awareness theme.
Official Essay Contest RulesPre-High School & High School
Individuals or groups may create a 2–5 minute video sharing a positive drug-free message based on the annual theme.
Official Video Contest RulesRed Ribbon Week is a national drug prevention campaign honoring Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. It encourages young people, families, schools and communities to make healthy, drug-free choices.
Bristol Elks #1010 works with area schools and youth programs to recognize Red Ribbon Week and help make Drug Awareness information and activities available to local youth.
The Elks Drug Awareness Program provides educational resources designed for different ages, along with prevention information for parents, families and educators.
Younger children can explore family-friendly Drug Awareness activities, coloring materials, games and educational resources featuring Elroy the Elk.
Visit the Elks Kids ZoneTeen-focused resources address issues young people may face and provide information intended to support healthy and informed choices.
Visit the Elks Teen ZoneThe national Drug Awareness resource library includes prevention tools and educational information covering subjects such as prescription drug misuse, underage drinking, impaired driving, marijuana, bullying, stress and substance abuse, and recognizing possible signs of drug use.
The Elks Drug Awareness Program honors the legacy of DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena and recognizes law enforcement professionals whose work demonstrates a strong commitment to drug prevention, education and enforcement.
The award reflects the Elks’ continuing partnership with law enforcement and community leaders working to protect young people and strengthen our communities.
